Tobe Station on the Keikyu Line in Nishi Ward, Yokohama is a popular station to live close to for younger, single people, especially for students studying at the local colleges, technical schools, and Japanese language schools located nearby.
The largest and most popular school is Yokohama Design College (https://www.ydc.ac.jp/) where among many courses, their Japanese language courses are quite popular among young people from all over the world.
Living in this neighborhood is not as expensive as other properties closer to Yokohama Station. Still, Tobe Station is only two stops from Yokohama Station and within walking distance of the Minatomirai waterfront district.
The first apartment, Glaçage Yokohama Rivière 302, is a rental flat with a 1LDK layout and 30.26 sqm of space for 138,000 yen a month. Construction of the building was completed in March of this year, so the landlord is looking for their very first tenant. This flat would be ideal for a younger, single professional needing easy access to any one of the multinational corporations with offices in the Minatomirai waterfront district where the rent for similar 1LDK flats can cost in excess of 300,000 yen and higher.
The area around Tobe station includes residential flats, condos, single-family homes, and many small businesses ranging from bars, clubs, cafes, and restaurants to industrial mom-and-pop shops tucked in between the ever growing number of high-rise mixed-use apartment buildings.
The next apartment, High Life Yokohama 602, is a 2LDK condominium with 60.31 sqm of space, and is currently listed at 33.8 million yen. As of this video, the apartment is currently vacant, meaning that the buyer can purchase this unit for their own use, or rent it out as an investment property. This condo is also within walking distance of Yokohama Station making it ideal for commuting to Kawasaki and Tokyo.
Although this 11-story building is nearly 50 years old, the interior of this flat has been fully renovated with new walls, ceilings, floors, appliances, and furnishings in all rooms.
